By 'EMF & H' we mean virtually everything related to the exposure of humans, animals,
and plants to EMF—and the health consequences.
This includes both the radiofrequency (RF) EMF of wireless communication and the low-frequency (LF) EMF of high-voltage power lines and household appliances connected to the grid.
RF EMF includes GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G, C2000, smartphones, mobile phones, DECT phones, WLAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, smart meters, smart baby monitors, etc.
The term electromagnetic fields (EMF) is correct for the entire frequency range,
both RF and LF. The term electromagnetic radiation (EMF) is also used,
but by definition, we can only speak of EMF if the electric and magnetic field strengths have a specific, fixed ratio.
This condition is only met in part of the RF range (the so-called far field) and not in the near RF field (near the antenna) and not in the LF range.
Therefore, it is incorrect to speak of EMF in the entire LF range (0-100 kHz) and in the near-RF range.
Of particular importance to the relationship between EMF and health are: * the biological effects caused by these electromagnetic fields, * the health problems that (can) result from them, and * the policies of governments and physicians regarding this issue.
